Yeah, indeed, judging from the speed and trend of the development in the are I live, I would certainly agree on the opportunities Chengdu offers to designers and architects.

Although ??? is far removed from the city center, that is actually probably the fastest growing region of the city. A few years ago it was grasslands and now it boasts a lot of the most impressive architecture and infrastructural development in the city.

As for the Taiwanese communities, I actually could not find any of them so far, do you have any recommendation or connections? From reading previous posts and comments, I recognize that there are places like bars and bookstores where people hangout. However, I wonder if there are any design or art lovers communities as well. There seems to be many biking events, maybe I should seriously consider getting a bike :) (I have cycling around Taiwan once)

I’m not sure where they hang out or anything, just met a lot of people from Taiwan in Chengdu over the years. I don’t know much about Taiwanese culture, only been there once.

There’s a great cycling community around the Natooke shop in Chengdu, definitely check them out. This is a great city for bicycling.
