This conversation is about stereotypes. It by no means means “Everyone from this place is ______”. The point above isn’t me saying “Everyone in Chengdu is lazy”, it’s saying that many people may perceive that, and as such, it’s a stereotype. Don’t mistake my comments for my personal views pinning everyone from Chengdu in a box – I’m just discussing perceptions and common themes in relation to how people may frequently think for whatever reason.
