Are these still for sale?
Also, does anyone know where I might be able to find some books in English?
September 15, 2011 at 11:25 am #13375CharlieKeymasterI ended up selling some of these but most are still for sale. Let me know what you’re interested in and I can cut you a deal. PM me.

Down the first floor, at their little shop inside of the build, you can buy or exchange whatever you have to the same amount of books. Most are fiction from what I’ve seen. But you can always ask or call their info desk(some staff members speak decent but not fluent English and Mandarin Chinese)
Here is the link. http://www.lofthostel.com/
Good luck! 🙂

At a place like the Bookworm (which is the best English language bookstore in Chengdu by far) paperbacks are well over 100 yuan. We gave away a copy of “Harvest Season” a few months ago that cost 140 yuan, about 250 pages paperback.
But if you go to some large Chinese bookstores they’ll have an English section with classics like The Wizard of Oz, Frankenstein etc for 20 yuan. Nothing in between though.
September 15, 2011 at 5:37 pm #133847ParticipantToo bad. I literally gave away a huge box of paperbacks and took a bunch more to a local store to trade in for credit which I gave to my dad.
I like your taste in books BTW, though I doubt I’ll buy any as I prefer e-books as well.
September 15, 2011 at 11:27 pm #13387RayParticipant@Charlie: I noticed LP “Iran”! Man, did you manage to get in? Beautiful country, great people BTW…

I can’t blame you though, ebooks are so convenient. I wish there was some way for me to digitize these so I could have electronic copies, unfortunately it looks like I’ll have to re-purchase some of them.
Quote:I noticed LP “Iran”! Man, did you manage to get in? Beautiful country, great people BTW…I haven’t made it yet, but I will! I grew up with a lot of Persian friends and would love to visit Iran. That book was given to me by one of my best (Persian) friends when we met in Thailand to get me more interested in traveling to Iran. I’m totally interested.
Quote:Do you still have Electric Sheep? Want.Yup, I still have it. I will hold onto it for you.
