KeymasterI’m interested in buying a projector for home use and I was wondering if anywhere here had any suggestions. I’ve been doing a little bit of research on prices and technologies but the price and availability of projectors in China seems to be quite different from in the US. Anyone here have a projector that they bought in China, or in Chengdu?
I’m hoping to keep this under 5,000 kuai and I’m definitely interested in a projector capable of 720p output.
Thanks in advance for any guidance. I will share whatever information I find here so other people can find it in the future.

This one looks perfect. What’s most important to me is 2,500+ lumens (流明) and 720p output for less than 5,000.
I found another BenQ model that looks good also, here’s a link: BenQ TW5286 on 360Buy. Any opinion on this one? It’s a little bit cheaper and 2,800 lumens.
One thing I noticed about all of these models is that they seem to only be available in China. I wonder what the reason is for that. If you Google them looking for information in English, you can’t really find anything except for Taobao agents or Chinese website listings.

ParticipantIf you plan to use it quite a bit, suggest also taking a look at the model’s pricing on replacement lamps — sometimes cheaper isn’t always cheaper 😀

ParticipantBenQ TW5286 isn’t native 720p, but sure you must add around 1000 rmb…

Ahh, yes… I ended up ordering the Acer on 360Buy.com this afternoon, to be delivered soon. Thanks for your help Federico!

Good point. I searched for replacement lamps and it looks like they’re between 300-500rmb. That seems suspiciously cheap to me, I thought replacement bulbs for projectors were more than 1,000 rmb. Here’s a link: Acer H5370 Bulbs
