Buying musical equipment in Chengdu

Hi, I want to buy a couple of cables (XLR + guitar lead) and a mic stand.

I’m new to Chengdu. Can any musos out there recommend a place that I can buy them?

Also are there any open mic nights here? Any one interested in joining me in going along to one?

You can find XLR cables, regular 1/4 cables and mic stands in the little shops behind the Sichuan Conservatory of Music just tell a taxi driver to go to 川音 ”chuan yin“ and do some window shopping. Jah Bar and Macchu Picchu have open mic, Jah bar is more reggae/rock and has a PA and drums whereas Macchu Picchu is more acoustic and folk.

“Ffficial” Jah bar jams are on Thursday but a lot of people also play on Friday and Saturday.

Macchu Picchu is pretty open to acoustic jams whenever, the owners are cool guys.
