KeymasterI went to a cosplay event at the ??? convention center last weekend with a colleague. First time attending anything like that – lots of wigs, makeup, and plastic weapons! Apparently events like this happen 5-6 times a year in Chengdu. Worth checking out once for fun with a friend if only to witness all the bizarre things there like cosplay “acting competitions”.
Here are some photos:

ParticipantRad photos! Any info on where to find out where these gigs are at? I know I know. I spend the majority of my time beside a cosplay cafe, but if you know of any other venue it’d be interesting to check out.

The place next door to your shop is probably a great candidate. In this case I just had a colleague invite me out of the blue. There are at least a handful of big cosplay events (thousands of people) a year in Chengdu.

MemberYou’ll really need some passion for Japanese comics to understand this. It’s probably the closest you can get to be someone unreal in real life.

ParticipantSome people like football, some people like drink, some people like play videogames, some people like climbing mountain… the difference it’s only what do you like, isn’t a problem about real life or not…
