When you first arrive in Langmusi, you may feel a bit disappointed, only two simple streets, seems not much different from the average Chinese village. But here’s a small walk in the street, oncoming tourists, foreigners, even more than the Chinese people, and most of Western backpacker. This is also the town first peculiar. It seems China is not much known, although it was elected in 2005 cctv China town charm, or the entire Northwest region only selected one, but still not too many people know this little place. But in the international arena, it has long been “proud”, the high profile of decades ago. In a variety of language to describe China’s travel manual, certainly missed this little northwestern town known for the people. What makes this humble town in northwestern China that is known in the international arena? Because a man and a book. The 1940s, an American missionary set foot on this land, where a living is more than a decade, until 1957, before leaving.

In this Tibetan town, he was fully integrated into the lives of Tibetans, and they ate, lived with grazing. Ten years time, Langmusi beautiful mountains, bold rough herdsman life, giving his life left an indelible mark, but also let him know from the heart of this nation has a long history of magic. After returning, he used his pen to these experiences into a book “Tebitlife”, is the “Tibetan life.” This book was published in the United States, just as the “vanishing horizon” as caused a great sensation, so that Westerners know the eastern edge of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau mountains, grasslands, monasteries and the Tibetan people. Thus, generation after generation of Westerners began to dream of here, to find the “Tibetan life” in the mysterious fascination of the northwestern town of people, until now.
