Mono are coming to chengdu as part of a China tour. This is probably the first time a band of this size has played in chengdu.
The venue is in the East Music Park. It has a capacity of about 700 people.
This is an important event for chengdu. If you’d like to see bigger bands getting booked to come here regularly then please support this gig. The Little Bar, Xiong Mao and New Noise are working together on this project.
There will be a free after-party in xiong mao for people with Mono ticket stubs.
I will definitely be at this…
Where is this show actually happening? Not inside Xiong Mao I assume?
I hadn’t heard of this band until recently but I asked some friends and they said do not miss this show. Judging by what I’ve heard, they are extremely similar to Explosions in the Sky (instrumental spacey post-rock) who I saw at Coachella and loved. Youtube clip below:
The venue is inside the east music park but its not xiong mao. I can’t remember the name of the venue, I’ll find out and post it here. I’ve seen pictures and it looks nice.
They will be importing a huge sound system on top of what is already at the venue, so expect the sound quality to be very good.
You can buy advance tickets from both Little Bars. They’re cheaper than on the door.

There is a free afterparty in xiong mao for everybody with a Mono ticket stub. If you don’t go to the Mono gig tickets are 30 rmb.
The DJs will be playing a mixture of Rock and Electronic music.

The venue is called 拾得雨林实践中心
Its somewhere in the north end of the park. Hopefully there will be a bunch of signs up for the gig.
