Last Sunday we watched Ferris Beuller’s Day Off in Yulin with a gigantic crowd and had a blast. This week we’re watching Rush Hour starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker:

    About Rush Hour

Cultures clash and tempers flares as two cops named Detective Lee, a Hong Kong Detective and Detective James Carter FBI, a big-mouthed work-alone Los Angeles cop who are from different worlds discovers one thing in common: they can’t stand each other. With time running out, they must join forces to catch the criminals and save the eleven-year-old Chinese girl of the Chinese consul named Soo Yung.

This movie will be in English with Chinese subtitles, so bring your Chinese friends and introduce them to Chris Tucker and black humor, with the familiarity of Jackie Chan.

Don’t you ever touch a black man’s radio, boy! You can do that in China but you can get your ass killed out here, man.

Here’s the movie trailer on Youtube:

    About the Banana Boat

The Banana Boat is our completely mobile music and movie setup, built into a rickshaw. We cycle somewhere, stop, and within 5 minutes we’re watching movies or playing music.

A photo of the first outdoor movie night where we watched The Karate Kid:

    Karate Kid in Chengdu

The location is in the Yulin neighborhood, about a 2 minute walk away from the Laoma Tou Hotpot Restaurant. The name of the alley that we’ll be on is ???? and if you search for it on Baidu or Google Maps you should see where it’s located.

Or if you have a bicycle, ride to the location with us from the Natooke Bicycle Shop at 7:30pm.

After the movie has concluded, we are heading straight to Lantown for the Inverse Law party which is free. Two DJ’s and free food!

Definitely looking forward to this.  Save the ‘squiters (bring bug spray), chilling out in an open space with a crowd and watching an entertaining flick can’t be beat.

Bunch of Chinese friends saw this flyer, most having seen the movie before and it looks like it’ll be a good turnout for both the expat crowd and locals.
