    Hey everybody!

I am really excited to come to Chengdu/ Sichuan in about a week. However, the current weather forecast is not looking too nice… We will stay for 10 days and plan to do:

    • 2 days Chengdu
    • 2 days Emei Shan
    • Rest of the time driving (with a car) through west-Sichuan

I am currently doing a lot of research and have a couple of questions: The west of Sichuan will still be quite chilly, is that correct? Is it a good idea at all to do a small road-trip in western Sichuan in July (during the rain season)? In western Sichuan, which are places that you would recommend, which are not too touristic?

Is it true that during the 2 days in Chengdu it will be basically rain non-stop?

    Thanks for your advices…

The west of Sichuan have lots good places. such like ruoergai(若尔盖) hong yuan(红原).

it’s highland weather.   it’s very cold in the evening.  and  sunlight is strong in the day time.  and dont get cold there.  also dont be too exciting when you arrived there, take a good rest and walk slowly.

    Recommend as above.

The ruoergai(若尔盖)&the first bay of Yellow River(九曲黄河第一湾)in <span style=”background-color: #fbfbfb; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 22px; text-align: justify;”>western Sichuan</span> may be your wise options in Jun.-Sep. It takes three or four days for a unhurried trip from Chengdu and back by car.

Some photos from Internet are attached.

    Answer your questions left:

1.In the highland of west Sichuan these days, the temperature in a day ranges from  9<span style=”background-color: #ffffff; color: #000000; font-family: arial; font-size: small; line-height: 18px;”>℃ to 20</span><span style=”background-color: #ffffff; color: #000000; font-family: arial; font-size: small; line-height: 18px;”>℃ or so,not chilly, but still cold in the night. You’d better take warm clothes with you and use sunscreen in the daytime against the strong UV of highland.</span>

2.The weather forecast said it will be still rainy for the next days, which upsets me as well.If you want to drive to the places, you’d better follow the  weather forecast and avoid rainy days preventing the landslide.

    Generally,the 213 country-road condition is well.

“To travel in eastern Sichuan, weather is important while luck is more”.Cause the weather in the highland is really changeable,I can’t promise you 100% the good weather, but the amazing landscape is  still worth a gamble, just believing you are a lucky dog!

I will head to there several daysfter as well.Hope you enjoy your trip~
