Hey guys,
I am moving to Chengdu next weekend and desperately need an apartment asap. I have a budget of 2500rmb a month and would like something no smaller than 80sq metres and furnished. It must be clean and modern. Its not necessary to be close to the metro. I have tried anjukes website but find it awful as half the photos are fake and am running out of ideas. Help!! My girlfriend is already in Chengdu and is available to visit the apartment. If you have any links, any friends or family with something available please let me know. You can contact me on 13515104804 or [email protected]
January 29, 2012 at 3:35 pm #16724Brave ChengduParticipantIan, it’s hard to do this over the internet.
if it’s urgent you could try:
http://www.myhouseinchina.com/
though I think they cater for a different budget.
there’s
not sure the situ there.
I’m afraid maybe the best is for you or your GF to get stuck in, choose a neighborhood and trawl the agency’s. You’ll need some chinese for that.
or try
http://fang.taobao.com/chengdu/zufang
that’s Chinese too. but good for at least market rates if you can manage it.

January 29, 2012 at 4:47 pm #16726JerrySParticipantShanx for those links. Checking out the taobao and looks great. Might relocate somewhere downtown area, found a few good places, just checking out prices.
Also, someone mentioned they lived in Times area.. That place is hella expensive!! 5k Rmb a month, heh, hard to live there on a teacher’s salary.

January 30, 2012 at 7:28 am #16736CharlieKeymasterIf you’re in an emergency situation and need something right now, it might be worth staying at Hakka Homes for a week or however much time you need to find something more permanent. Rushing into a rental contract can be a high stakes game. Good luck.
