ParticipantOh dang! That 口袋蓝牙 got snapped up!
Mr. Klink
Participant500元 deposit. 100元 per day or 400/week. We hope to see you around soon!

ParticipantEnjoyed the podcast. Typically with programs like this if I put it on and find myself following it throughout its entirety than I think it fares well in terms of quality of content.
Definitely looking to future installments of this, especially if you diversified and talked about any number of things, say for instance stories focusing on strange coincidences or situations in which you’ve been helped in some profound way.
I haven’t been too happy with mine in my brief experience (hard to get a comfortable fit, condensation(?) makes me feel like my nose is running down my chin).
We sell them and to be honest there’s no way to make peace with equipment that serves a purpose like Respro. Breathing should be the most natural, mindless process. Wearing a mask is a reminder of the risks of the environment.
I won’t claim they’re so comfortable you won’t notice them but for the purpose (active aerobic exercise) they are far more functional than the competition. Totobobo is like putting a plastic cup on your face and breathing through a straw and other choices, like 3M and the ones you pick up at 7-11 feel flimsy, fit poorly and don’t provide a proper seal which eliminates the purpose of a mask.
Then add to that the list of Taobao knockoffs and other cheap alternatives. It’s can be a nuisance to wear but after riding for several hours on a grey day I’m always pleased to take it off and be cough-free.

ParticipantIt helps to offer expected hourly rates for English lessons.

ParticipantWe highly recommend this opportunity.
Care to elaborate on the ‘we’?
The people, the populace, the collective spirit. No one in maintaining a peaceful society has found themselves in absolute vocal opposition of this job in regards to it being a recommendable opportunity.
Ergo, you, I and the general ChengduLiving community is err apparent, on board. So there you have it. “We” highly recommend this job opportunity.

ParticipantJust download a bootleg copy of Traktor and look up a few tutorials on Google. A conservative estimate of Chengdu’s expat population puts the percentage of active DJs at about 87% so the likelihood of finding someone who’s interested in showing you the ropes are quite high.
I tinkered with it for a bit but ended up just getting two songs deeply stuck in my head so I stepped back and decided to keep my life simple. I only allow myself to tastefully curate iTunes mixes anymore.

ParticipantThis is huge! I’d definitely pop in for a single session just to see this dude dance.
Mr. Klink
ParticipantNice offer. There’s a nice route between here and Dujiangyan that runs parallel to the expressway. It’s also flat so it makes a pretty easy ride even for a novice.

ParticipantHow much damage to the health does breathing unfiltered air when biking or running do?
It’s hard to say as there’s no reliable studies of the health implications of air quality in larger Chinese cities. Some compare it to smoking, but I can’t imagine the damage to your lungs is quite the same.
Personally, I don’t much like wearing a mask. I think any active individual that uses one finds it in some way annoying or at least frustrating. It’s no fun being required to strap something to your face as a preventative health measure in trying to do something you enjoy like running or biking.
I’ve got sensitive lungs and when air quality is bad I get chest congestion and discomfort. I wake up with phlegm in my chest and during bad air stretches I have a perpetual cough. The goop I cough up also takes on a lovely, unnatural greyish tint.
But the benefits of a mask are there and outweigh the annoyance. A mask designed to be used in activity makes a huge help too. A lot of masks feel like you’ve stuck a shoe on your face. Respro on the other hand has a large filter area and a neoprene shell that wicks sweat and keeps the filter in the right place. Exhaling’s a breeze (pun intended) because of a pair of one-way valves. The best part is I can go for a long ride even if the air’s absolute shit and have no issues.
It’s like brushing my teeth really. It’s a nuisance to remember to do it twice a day, but the overarching idea of having teeth when I’m older is worth it. Figure I ought to take care of my lungs too.

ParticipantYes! It’s tough coming by the holiday spirit here but this definitely captures it. Albeit it in a weird way. Can’t wait!
Mr. Klink
ParticipantSaw this story and just thought it was a rehash of a story in Beijing. There was a guy a couple years ago there who built a sealed filtration unit to be used with a modified old fighter jet helmet.
I don’t think I’d bother to lug around a deep cell battery, converter and the filtration system, however. My Respro seems to work well enough.
Mr. Klink
ParticipantExciting. Glad to know someone’s working through the holiday.
Suit Republic is definitely worth a visit regardless of your desire to buy a suit. Definitely an awesome view.

ParticipantOH.. and Mr. Klink, your directions screwed up at 2) Print. I don’t have a printer in Chengdu, and it’s too much trouble to go a copy shop and get a map printed….. but I did take a camera shot of the Chinese address.. it was enough to get there, but not enough to give confidence I would find the place before I left.
I’m sorry you find most every task, whether it’s utilizing someone’s directions or printing something too quarrelsome to meddle with. We’re glad you managed to find your way regardless of all the bitter frustrations and seemingly endless toil. It’d be a real shame if you’d gotten lost.
As always the DOJO, I’m sure, appreciates your criticisms. We try real hard to make it the most unique place to go for a good time in Chengdu. Even if it means you have to go a bit out of your way.
Mr. Klink
ParticipantBrad. Follow these instructions explicity:

ParticipantDang! I’ve heard rumors about what’s in the works for this party and it sounds insane! Definitely should check it out.

ParticipantA notice for all newcomers. Everything that you own is a target for theft. Your locked bike, the iPhone in your pocket, the pile of cash on your kitchen table, the iPad in your hands on the metro, your pet kitten.
So long, Sal! This is solid advice regardless. Best thing you can do to prevent theft is assume it’ll happen and be mindful to take whatever precaution to prevent it. Even if it seems in excess. Overdoing it is a healthy habit to form here.

ParticipantThis looks so radical my face is melting!
Mr. Klink
ParticipantWish I had the time to play music. This city could use a little more punk rock!
Mr. Klink
ParticipantCongrats Dieter! Super exciting to see another nest popping up, especially one that offers food. Look forward to popping in some time.

ParticipantThe issue I ran into was opening a local branch account that would allow the free, interbank transfer of either currency from one account to the other. I still can do as you do and make USD deposits into the account and withdraw cash as RMB, but the service I was after (making the swap between accounts without getting tagged with a transfer fee or an exchange fee) was not possible. I was unable to open a domestic branch of the account that would allow me this unless I provided mentioned documentation. They in turn referred me to BoC because as the said, any transfer would be routed through that venue.
I also didn’t bother with HSBC because we use them for our foreign company’s banking and they’re a hellbeast to deal with.
